Deployment Accessories
You don't always have the luxury of mounting your instrument where and how you wish. Here we present a few solutions for mounting you instruments within a mooring and on a buoy
AquaCross Bottom FrameThe AquaCross is a light weight bottom frame for the Aquadopp Profiler equipped with right-angle transducer head. It is made from aluminum u-sections an comes apart very easily for transport and inexpensive shipping. The AquaCross is designed to be deployed by divers and has proven to be very stable in energetic environments. It is most applicable to regions with soft, flat bottoms. |

Larger Bottom Frames and TripodsWe can provide a variety of larger bottom frames and tripods to meet your challenging deployment requirements. Options include open and closed trawl-resistant frames, aluminum or fiberglass construction, and options to mount underwater acoustic modems, pop-up buoys and ancillary instruments. Please contact us to discuss your specific project requirements. |

Subsurface BuoysThe ROMOR C-ROM is an oceanographic subsurface mooring solution that offers a reliable and compact design for mooring and recovering Nortek AWAC's and Aquadopp Profilers. The C-ROM and C-ROM Plus units consist of a subsurface flotation collar mounting assembly for instrumentation that provides approximately 80 & 105 lbs (36 & 48 kg) positive buoyancy starting at depths of 750m, progressing to full ocean depth. |
AquaFinThe Aquafin is designed for mooring an Aquadopp Current Meter or Current Profiler. It shackles into the mooring line and allows the Aquadopp to swivel freely so that its beams always look into undisturbed flow. Choose non-magnetic stainless steel or titanium for mooring loads of 1000, 2000 or 3000 lb. The Aquafin is made by OceanScience. |
|
AquaClampThe AquaClamp is similar the AquaFin in that it is used to mount an Aquadopp Current Meter or Profiler on a mooring line. The AquaClamp mounts in-line the mooring wire, when clamping directly to the mooring wire is not practical or desired. The AquaClamp is made with Stainless Steel and has a load rating of 10,000 pounds. |

ClamparatusThe Oceanscience Group's "Clamparatus" makes it easy to mount an acoustic Doppler profiler, acoustic modem or other instrumentation on an existing navigation buoy. The Clamparatus is manufactured of aluminum for ease of mounting. All hardware is 316 stainless or titanium. The Clamparatus was designed for NOAA's PORTS program and is used to provide real-time current information to ship captains. The standard Clamparatus mounts on the ubiquitous US Coast Guard 8x26 steel navigation buoy. Mounts for other buoy sizes are available.
