- New navigation capability to PUMA Ocean Racing Team
- Nortek announced today that it has collaborated with the PUMA Ocean Racing team to develop a modified compact Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) for PUMA’s Mar Mostro Volvo Open 70 yacht competing in the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012. The project, which was completed over the course of the past year, has resulted in the successful integration of boat speed, leeway and in-situ ocean current readings. Translation: a secret weapon in the battle to go as fast and efficiently as possible.

- NortekUSA Technical Symposium a Great Success!
- Scientists and engineers from across the globe gathered last week in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island for three days of presentations and training sessions on the use of Nortek instruments.
- The CWTM Conference (20-23 March) Features Much Exciting Nortek Research
- This March, Nortek will be well represented at the IEEE/OES Tenth Current, Waves and Turbulence Conference. Ten papers featuring research performed with the use of Nortek AWACs, Z-cells, Aquadopps, and Vectrinos will be presented.

- Due to our strong growth over the past years, Nortek UK will shortly be moving to new offices and we are now seeking a new sales engineer to serve the scientific and survey community, within UK and Ireland.

- We are pleased to announce that Tore Hofstad has joined Nortek as our managing director. His arrival is part of an effort to to manage our continued growth, and he has already been joined by our new director of engineering, Håkon Steinbakk.

- ISO recertification complete
- We are pleased to announce that Nortek has been recertified for another three years under the ISO 9001:2008 standard. This means that the auditors have found that our production, development and distribution system for Doppler velocity systems are in compliance with the requirements of the standards.

- Kongsberg Maritime has developed a new system for measuring ocean currents along drilling risers. The data can be intergrated with the Kongsberg HiPAP positioning system to improve control of drilling operations.
