New oceanographic technology meets old Southern hospitality at the 2008 NortekUSA Users Symposium.

You are invited to attend this distinctive event hosted at the Cedar Grove Mansion Inn, a historic antebellum estate, located in the garden district of Vicksburg, Mississippi. In addition to its rich Civil War history and National Battlefield, Vicksburg is also the home of the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC).

Scientific and engineering presentations will be made by your academic, private and government sector peers, as well as select Nortek staff from our offices in the USA and Norway. There will be time for hand’s on operation of Nortek equipment and software, and for a tour of the Army Corps ERDC facility which was recently selected as the Army’s 2007 Laboratory of the Year.

*NortekUSA strives to support student education and research so we are subsidizing part of the cost for each student registration fee.

Cedar Grove Mansion Information:
The Users Symposium will be held at the Cedar Grove Mansion Inn in Vicksburg, a Greek Revival Antebellum estate on four acres which will provide an exclusive retreat-style atmosphere. All 33 rooms in the mansion and surrounding grounds have been reserved on a first-come, first-served basis at a truly remarkable rate of $100 / night. A government rate will be available for Tuesday through Thursday nights for Federal Employees. Contact Cedar Grove today to book your room: (800) 862-1300.

Note that although all the accommodations will be truly special, the most historic and opulent rooms (which normally are $215) will go to those who sign up early!

We also are working to identify a traditional hotel should attendees require and/or overflow be needed. More information will be posted as it comes available.

Travel Tips:
The airport servicing Vicksburg is Jackson-Evers International Airport (Code JAN). It is approximately a 1 hour drive on I-20 to Vicksburg from the airport which is on the East side of Jackson. Jackson is served by 8 major airlines, with direct flights from BWI, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and 7 other cities.
