Mounting Solutions
You do not always have the luxury of mounting your instrument where and how you wish. Here we present a few solutions for mounting your instruments within a mooring and on a buoy.
AquaCross Bottom FrameThe AquaCross is a lightweight bottom frame for the Aquadopp profiler equipped with a right-angle transducer head. It is made from aluminum u-sections and is very easy to disassemble for transport and inexpensive shipping. The AquaCross is designed to be deployed by divers and has proven to be very stable in energetic environments. It is particularly well-suited for regions with soft, flat bottoms. |

Larger Bottom Frames and TripodsWe can provide a variety of larger bottom frames and tripods to meet your challenging deployment requirements. Options include open and closed trawl-resistant frames, aluminum or fiberglass construction, and options to mount underwater acoustic modems, pop-up buoys and ancillary instruments. Please contact us to discuss your specific project requirements. |

AquafinThe Aquafin is designed for mooring an Aquadopp current meter or current profiler. It shackles into the mooring line and allows the Aquadopp to swivel freely so that its beams always look into undisturbed flow. Choose non-magnetic stainless steel or titanium for mooring loads of 500 or 1500kg (1100 or 3200kg). The Aquafin is made by Oceanscience. |

AquaClampThe AquaClamp is similar to the Aquafin in that it is used to mount an Aquadopp current meter or profiler on a mooring line. The AquaClamp mounts in-line the mooring wire, when clamping directly to the mooring wire is not practical or desired. The AquaClamp is made from stainless steel and has a load rating of 10,000 lb. |

ClamparatusThe Oceanscience Group's "Clamparatus" makes it easy to mount an acoustic Doppler profiler, acoustic modem or other instrumentation on an existing navigation buoy. The Clamparatus is manufactured of aluminum for ease of mounting. All hardware is 316 stainless steel or titanium. The Clamparatus was designed for NOAA's PORTS program and is used to provide real-time current information to ship captains. The standard Clamparatus mounts on the ubiquitous US Coast Guard 8x26 steel navigation buoy. Mounts for other buoy sizes are available.

AWAC platform head mounting bracketThe AWAC platform head mounting bracket made by Ageotec, Italy facilitates easy installation of the assymetric AWAC with battery canister. The only thing needed on the platform leg is a horizontal flange on which the Ageotec bracket is mounted. The AWAC and its battery canister can easily be removed from the mounting bracket for servicing and change of batteries. |
