Vector ships with updated hardware

This week, the last of the Nortek standard products were been ported to the new "midlife" hardware platform. This means that the Vector 3D velocimeter joins the Aquadopp, Aquadopp profiler and AWAC in using a smaller circuit board.

From a practical point of view, new Vectors will benefit from some of the same improvements that have been seen in the Aquadopps:

  • Larger recorder (max 352 MB)
  • Smaller size (standard canister is 11 cm shorter)
  • Optional double-size battery
  • Fast download using RS232-USB converter

The Vector mechanical design is otherwise the same - all titanium probe, protective water blocks between probe and canister, and two depth ratings: 400 and 4000m.
