On June 12, Nortek's Dutch subsidairy Qmetrix hosted a successful user seminar at the Dutch Water Dreams center in Zoetermeer. More than 20 participants enjoyed a combination of user presentations and information about new products and applications from Qmetrix and Nortek. The event was rounded off with rafting in the 2008 Olympic Games course.

Nortek user seminars are fun (in many ways)

The day contained a total of eight presentations, four of which were presented by users of Nortek/Qmetrix equipment and that covered an interesting variety of applications. During breaks, the discussions between the participants was quite lively, and the general impression was that the seminar provided a valuable opportunity for users to share their experiences with colleagues.

After the presentation session, several Nortek and Qmetrix instruments were demonstrated live, and the whole seminar was rounded off with rafting in the 2008 Olympic Games course replica. The DWD whitewater course is based on the design being built for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. It is 300 metres in length, 20 metres wide and drops 5 metres along the course. There are five pumps, each of which has a pumping capacity of 4.25 m3 water per second. This amounts to 105 full bath tubs ... per second! A great way of not only measuring but also feeling the forces of nature.
