Hi Ray,

I see from the screenshot that you use a very old firmware. You should upgrade to the latest firmware 1.29. You can download it from http://www.nortek-as.com/en/support/software. You should also download the latest Vectrino PC software. Please do this first and report the results!

Best regards

Marius

Thank you Marius for your help

and also i want to ask

sometimes i've got negative velocity readings

i tried to measure the velocity for a period of time, thought the negative sign may disappear. however, the negative sign is still there no matter how long i wait. but if i change the height of the probe to another different height, the velocity readings are more logical

what could be the problem?

please see attachment

Ray,

In your attached plot your correlation values are extremely low. In general the correlation values should be upwards of 90%. Please check your Nominal Velocity Range setting in the Deployment Planning dialog and ensure it is high enough for the flow you are measuring. In this same dialog on the right hand side, two velocity ranges are reported, one each for horizontal and vertical velocities. The Nominal Velocity Range setting will cause changes in the reported horizontal and vertical ranges. Make sure these are above the expected flow velocities or you will not measure usable, high quality data. I would suggest moving up to a higher Nominal Velocity Range to start.

Please locate the office the instrument was purchased from and email a request to them. They will need the probe head serial number and Vectrino body serial number to supply you with a license key to upgrade the firmware.

Thanks Peter

i have already emailed them the serial number and the probe number

so do you think the error i am having (see the very first attachment) is related to the firmware version?

see if i upgrade the firmware, the error status will not appear?

I would recommend updating the firmware and seeing if this solves the status error message. Quite a bit has changed in the six firmware releases since the version your instrument currently has and this could resolve the issue.
