Missing head configuration during data conversion
I've got a series of ADVs that have recently begin to sporadically give errors when trying to do data conversion (VNO->HDR&DAT). The software asks if I would like to repair the file (attached a screen cap). I click ok, and it spits out a hdr file and a different vno file. Ive seen this with two different probes, with different cables. When I try to convert the "repaired file" it gives the same error. So is there anyway to read that data or is it a lost cause, and second what could possibly be causing this error to occur?
Thanks,
Jesse
We've done some more testing with other instruments and it appears if there is some electircal noise near by. Is it possible that the Vectrinos could be picking up on this electrical noise and somehow corrupting the data transmission or file? The PC for Vectrino collection is well away from the source and functions fine for all other uses.

Re: Missing head configuration during data conversion
Hello Jesse,
You are right electrical noise may currupt the data transmission, especially at high data rates using long cables. Unless the .hdr file reports checksum errors, it may be that the errors are due to a missing header section in the file. Are you recording data with the standard Vectrino software? If you upload one of the problem files to ftp://ftp.nortek-as.com/pub/incoming we could have a look at. it
