vectrino+ in horizontal state
I have a problem with vectrino+ .when i collect data in special point with vectrino+ horizontally and vertically, the velocities are not the same for that special point. for example the velocities in horizontal state are more than in vertical state. I wonder if you could help me for analyzing the velocities that collected with vectrino+ in horizontal state.
Thanks
Hi Razieh,
Did you change the velocity range between the horizontal and vertical orientations of the Vectrino? You could be seeing different velocities because of phase wrapping if you are working in a flow with a mean component.

Hi
Thank you very much for your reply.
But i changed the velocity range for horizontal state because when i fix vectrino+ horizontally, the X and Z axises change their situation with each other. So Vz is the streamwise velocity and -Vx is the vertical velocity.but when i collect data in a special point with Vectrino+ horizontally and vertically, i dont see similar quantity for averaged velocities .in the file attachment you can see data from two points, first row is collected with Vectrino+ in vertical state and second row is colected with Vectrino+ in horizontal state. in this file you can compare Vx, Vy and Vz of these tow points with each other. in this file we should have the same quantity for Vx in first row and Vz in second row. but we dont see it.
Why are the RMS velocities so high for both datasets? I would expect turbulence levels (characterized by an RMS velocity) to be less than 10% of the mean flow speed or about 5 cm/s. There are a couple of coordinate directions which have RMS values nearly the same as the mean flow.
Can you upload the *.vno data files for me? If you click on my name you should be able to just email them since they are probably too large to post on the forums.

Hi Razieh,
I've responded to the two emails you sent, but haven't heard anything back from you. Just wanted to make sure you were receiving those. You can try emailing me directly at pj@nortekusa.com
