SeaState Download data

Posted by Luca Finotto at June 08. 2009

Hi,

I have an AWAC and I tried to use  binary output format, but Oistein Hurum told me that SeaState software is not fully compatible with the NIP binary output format. So now I'm using ASCII format but I have some problems with SeaState:

  • after a Deployment Procedure if  I execute the "Download data" with the current day  from midnight Data SeaState menù (the number of records > 1), I can see in the Output window all the data, but  when I open the file, it is empty ! Only after about 10 hours the file is full but with only the last 2/3 hour data. I don't understand this strange behaviour.
  • our target is to acquire the AWAC data by read command from our datalogger and after create a .ndf file to use for Seastate sw. I'have tried to simulate this situation using an Hyperterminal:
  1. copy the head from an file.ndf to a file1.temp
  2. rd command to acquire data from hyperterminal
  3. copy data from hyperteminal to file1.temp
  4. rename file1.temp in file1.ndf
  5. open file1.ndf from  Seastate display data file menu
  6. Seastate doesn't grafic data

SeaStae version 1.07 beta25

NIP 2.17 NC5

Best Regards

Hello Luca,

If you enable data recording as part of the Configuration procedure (before starting the instrument), all data that comes in on the serial port should be recorded to the data file.

Please send a copy of the files you recorded to inquiry@nortek.no and I will see if I can find a solution.

Best regards,

Oistein
