ASCII Format of Continental ADCP

What is or where in the documentation is the format of the ASCII output for the continental ADCP described?   I can not find the format of the output data.

Hi Will,
The data output format should be described at the bottom of the instrument header file (*.hdr) generated  during data conversion.

We do not have the *.hdr files.  They only gave us *.cpa files. Is this format documented somewhere?  I can guess at some of it but the header on each record is a mystery.

Hi Will,
I'd recommend asking for the *.hdr file, all of the header information is in that file. You could also ask for the raw binary file (extension is *.cpr) and download the Continental software from our website t convert it and obtain all of the data recording by the instrument.

I'll see if I can track down a recent *.hdr file which will be representative of what the *.cpa file format should be.

Hi Will,

The format of the .cpa format is slightly different than what is described in the .hdr file. The format is described below and a test .hdr file is attached.
Please tell me if there are quaestions.

Best regards
